Mission

The Fountain Project was originally formed in June 2001 and became incorporated and non-profited in 2005. The Fountain Project Foundation, Inc. is a group of volunteers from Eastern and Western styles of medicine. They take one Sunday every three months and go to a monastery in Northern California. This group gives care to the local residents, the nuns and monks, and students from grades K through 12. These residents usually have no medical insurance nor do they qualify for welfare. We treat everyone that comes to these Sunday services.

The volunteer group usually consists of medical doctors, chiropractors, surgeons, optometrists, dentists, physical therapists, exercise instructors, massage therapists, nurses, medical assistants, acupuncturists, acupressure therapist and herbalists. These volunteers not only treat illnesses, but also educate the community on preventative and maintaining good well being.

At the same time that the medical group goes, another group of volunteers go to the community to work doing repairs on the buildings and grounds.

The Fountain Project Foundation is looking in the future to start a retreat center for everyone to be able to go and relax, exercise, meditate, and to rid the body of stress. With this center, there will be a small art museum showing traditional Chinese brush paintings and calligraphy by renowned artists Y. C. Chiang and Hui Liu and collections of other artists. The Retreat Center will be built in the style of a traditional Chinese four sided courtyard house with a large practice hall, meditation area, and dormitories for men and women.
